Hazard of wastewater: The organic matters in the high salinity organic wastewater vary with production process. Despite of great difference in categories and chemical properties, the salts are mostly Cl- and SO42-, Na +, Ca2 +, etc. As necessary nutrients for microbial growth, these ions could promote enzyme reaction, balance the membrane, and adjust the osmotic pressure. However, if the concentration is too high, they can inhibit and poison microorganisms.

After the first acidification layering, the wastewater contains extremely high content of inorganic salt and CL. Highly concentrated inorganic salt would cause significant influence on the ecological system of pollutant-holding water body and the regular biochemical treatment system and to a certain degree, corrosive to the drainage system of sewage treatment plant. Therefore it is required to get rid of the salt in advance. In addition, some wastewater contains relatively high COD and certain amount of LAS, LAS should be removed first. After biochemical treatment, the wastewater meets the take-over standard for municipal drainage pipe and goes to the sewage treatment plant for advanced treatment.
